Spanish government leader Pedro Sanchez and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen arrived in Kyiv this morning by train to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a Moncloa Palace resident posted on Twitter.

According to the Spanish daily El País, which had already reported that Sanchez intends to go to Kyiv, the agenda of the head of government is kept secret for security reasons.

On Tuesday, during a visit to the Ukrainian refugee reception center in Malaga, Sanchez explained that the purpose of the trip was to convey “the absolute commitment of the European Union, the Spanish government and society to peace” to Zelensky.
