For the past 5 years, Herbalife Nutrition has used crowdsourcing technology to grow its culture of innovation and grow it as a sustainable competitive advantage. The innovation culture in the company helps to bring about change by implementing new ways of thinking, working and leading and providing the necessary tools and skills to implement them.
Five years after implementation, the company’s more than 10,000 employees have been able to use GreenHouse to share more than 6,200 ideas, of which more than 300 have already been implemented, resulting in revenue of $3.1 million and cost savings of more than US$ -dollar led D. $D10M.
Since its inception, the Global Innovation Program has developed programs to help communicate new ways of thinking, implement innovative ideas, and recognize inspiring achievement.
“Our culture of innovation fuels our potential to strengthen our business, serve communities and create a better future,” said Máximo Dolman, vice president and general manager for Central and South America at Herbalife Nutrition.
Since 2017, Herbalife Nutrition has partnered with Spigit, a leading provider of innovation management software, to develop and improve a platform called GreenHouse, where employees are encouraged to submit and vote on ideas that help the company improve products and processes and to innovate. Registered users submit and vote on ideas, and winning ideas go through three phases: evaluation, testing, and implementation.
“Innovation isn’t just about coming up with the next brilliant idea – it’s about finding what’s wrong with today’s processes and finding solutions to improve them. Small changes set the stage for larger changes and projects,” said Elizabeth Krauss, Director, Global Innovation Strategy, Chief Innovation Office.
