The State Government, through the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Aquaculture (Seagro) and partners, organizes the exhibition of the agro-extractive products of family farmers from all regions of the State at the Family Agriculture Pavilion during the Agrotechnological Fair of Tocantins (Agrotins 2022). The fair with the theme “Integrating, intensifying to preserve”, takes place from 10 to 14 May at the Tocantins Agrotechnological Park, on the TO-050, Porto Nacional exit.
This year’s exhibition of family farmers, artisans, traditional communities and quilombolas at the fair focuses on the central theme “Bioeconomy and Cerrado”, aiming at the sustainable and socio-economic exploitation of the natural products of the Tocantins cerrado, allowing agro-extractors to generate employment and income.
The program also includes various activities such as the “Sabores do Cerrado” workshops, conferences, panels and debates aimed at participants, exhibitors, visitors and the public interested in learning about and tasting the products of cerrado such as mangaba, murici, macaúba jatobá, buriti, baru, pequi, among others.
According to the agronomist and manager of the organization of the exhibitors, Francisca Marta Barbosa, at the Pavilion of Agriculture of the Family “a series of activities and debates by national and international organizations and institutions aimed at encouraging the populations of the communities are scheduled rural families and farming families towards sustainable agro-extractivism in Tocantins “.
Among the innovations of Agrotins this year the exchange of native seeds, the agro-extractivist canteen and the participation in the Articulafito project – Value chains in medicinal plants, a joint initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture, Breeding and Supply (MAPA) and the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) which has identified and mapped 26 value chains of medicinal, aromatic, spicy and food plants in all regions of the country.
